When do Toyota fuel pumps usually show signs of trouble?

My 02 Tacoma ( 4 cylinder ), has 176,000 miles and still runs strong. Couldn't be more happy with it.

It beats the hell out of a Chevy S-10, or a Dodge Dakota, any day of the week.

But i was wondering about fuel pump life expectancy. Any gear heads or Toyota guys that can offer some advice i would really appreciate it.When do Toyota fuel pumps usually show signs of trouble?They usually dont go bad but its a good rule of

thumb to keep the gas needle above 1/4 tank.

The fact that fuel keeps the fuel pump cool and

with out it the fuel pump will over heat usually

ZERO fuel, steering, water pump issues. It should last the life of your engine.
