What's the difference (if any) between a Toyota 22r and 22re?

I've heard the Toyota 22r is an unstoppable engine. First, do you agree with this and, second, what the diiference between the 22r and 22re?What's the difference (if any) between a Toyota 22r and 22re?Yes they are right about the difference, a 22R or 20R is the carbureted version while the 22RE or REC is fuel injected. There is also the 22RETC which is the fuel injected turbo version.

And as long you you take care of your engine, regular maintenance and don驶t abuse it, it will last forever. My 1987 4runner has over 350,000 miles on it and still powers down the road like it is brand newWhat's the difference (if any) between a Toyota 22r and 22re?They are pretty bullet proof. You can check but if I remember right the 22r is carburated and the 22re is fuel injected. Other than that they are pretty much the same. What's the difference (if any) between a Toyota 22r and 22re?I agree with "uncle Jed" I was told that the "e" on the end stands for electronic as in electronic fuel injection.
