Should I sell my 1997 toyota 4runner and buy a 1995 chevy van with 108000 less miles?

Hi!

I recently was given a 1997 toyota 4runner with 200,000 miles on it. A great deal came up where I can buy a 1995 g 20 coachman van (bed, interior lights, cd) in great condition with way less miles.

Its a six cylinder though and my toyota was four.

Should I go through with it?

The toyota can't last much longer.

Thanks!Should I sell my 1997 toyota 4runner and buy a 1995 chevy van with 108000 less miles? Most likely, such a switch would be very unwise.

Firstly, a Toyota at 200,000 miles may be less than halfway through its useful life, barring unusual abuse. AutoOnInfo.net's Roster of 300,000+-Mile Vehicles has two 4Runners with more than 400,000 miles, one with more than 500,000 miles. Also, of vehicles on this roster, Toyota products account for 62% of the vehicles with more than 400,000 miles and 15 years.

Secondly, AutoOnInfo.net's reliability and durability studies suggest that a typical Chevrolet vehicle at 7 years of age may be as troublesome to own as a typical Toyota vehicle at 34 years of age.

Thirdly, Consumer Reports' accords the 1998 4-cylinder 4Runner its highest Reliability Verdict, and all of the reliability ratings for the individual categories are either Much Above Average or Above Average, save for one that is Average. (CR's Reliability Verdicts go back only 10 model years.)

For a long list of additional reasons not to make such a switch, see this Yahoo best answer:

The Yahoo Answer database is a very valuable tool.Should I sell my 1997 toyota 4runner and buy a 1995 chevy van with 108000 less miles? They Toyota will go for another 200K Miles easy and the Chevy will die soon 108K miles on the Chevy van is getting ready to need maintenance , unless the owner replaced everything thats needed. and gave it a tune up too. I would keep the Toyota, and its still great on gas. The van weighs more and will burn more gas.

If you get the right Price for the Toyota then its up to you. Toyota is known for the reliability and endurance. they are good well over 200K miles.Should I sell my 1997 toyota 4runner and buy a 1995 chevy van with 108000 less miles? With the Chevy van your looking at 8-12 miles per gallon and no power, I have a 95 g20 and with that much strain on the v6 it wont have a long life i would have to stick with the 4runner

What year did the Matrix Toyota come out?

I want to know what year the first Matrix toyota was made. How much would it cost buying a used Matrix? What year did the Matrix Toyota come out?Matrix came out in 2003. It's built on the same platform as the current Corolla. A newly redesigned model is due out for the 2008 year.

More details can be found here:

You can do a search for the 2008 Toyota Matrix. There are spy photos out for the new model which will be slightly bigger. What year did the Matrix Toyota come out?The Toyota Matrix is a compact wagon manufactured by Toyota in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and sold in North America.

The Matrix is the Toyota version of a joint venture between Toyota and General Motors; the GM version is the Pontiac Vibe, made at NUMMI in Fremont, California. A third version, also assembled at NUMMI, was sold in Japan from 2002 to early 2004 as the Toyota Voltz. Although the Voltz was sold under the Toyota brand there, the styling was nearly identical to the Vibe.

The Matrix and the Vibe are identical mechanically and practically identical internally, but they are clothed in different sheetmetal in order to appear somewhat different. Both vehicles are narrow but tall station wagons styled in a trendy, quasi-SUV fashion (called a crossover utility vehicle or "CUV" by Toyota) and marketed to a fairly youthful market segment. This type of car is often referred to as a sport wagon. They were introduced in the 2003 model year and based on the Toyota Corolla platform. It filled the gap in the Toyota line-up since the discontinuation of the Toyota Corolla station wagon in 1997. A facelift for 2005 brought minor revisions inside and out, including to the front bumper, taillights, and stereo.

Two 1.8 L engines are offered in the Matrix: the economical 1ZZ-FE, borrowed from the Corolla, which produces 130 hp, and the performance-oriented 2ZZ-GE borrowed from the Toyota Celica GT-S, which produces 164 (previously 180 hp in 2003, 173 hp in 2004, and 170 hp in 2005) hp. The Matrix was also available with all-wheel drive until 2007.

In 2007, Toyota discontinued use of the 2ZZ-GE engine and dropped the XRS from the Matrix lineup. The all-wheel drive variant was also dropped for the 2007 model year.

The 8 passenger has a different floor layout with the seat attachments in the correct place. Everyone is thinking you're looking for a seat to put in the center row but the center seat on a 8 passenger has no arm rest and folds flat with a cup holder built into the back. It has different mount points that allow it to be moved forward almost in between the front seats for easier access to Jr. You're either going to have to move one of your other kids to the back or if there isn't enough room trade it in for a 8 passenger. If you have a 7 passenger you can move the passenger side seat and place it next to the other seat to make it a bench style but that's about it.Where can I buy a Toyota Sienna Center Seat?Ebay; Your lucky day, if you are willing and able to pick them up in Southern California! How do I convert a toyota corolla '97 to run from a gas powered to a vegetable oil powered vehicle?

Im an ex-navy engineer and my 2 other friends are both car engineers. I kind of have an idea of engines, but the other two guys are going to do the critical thinking part. We came to a halt when we realized we had no idea of how to convert a toyota corolla to run on vegetable oil. I researched, and most conversion package are only for diesel powered engines, but found none for unleaded fuels. so I need help, any suggestions would be appreciated. How do I convert a toyota corolla '97 to run from a gas powered to a vegetable oil powered vehicle?Oddly enough, I's just reading an article on this this morning, except it was an old Jetta. The key is that you have to start with a diesel engine. Not sure if Corollas even come in diesel. Said that you can order a kit and have your very handy friend or trained mechanic (sounds like that'd be you) install it. Once installed, You have to start the car with diesel fuel (to warm the veggie oil to proper running consistency), and after you're done driving, you need to let the engine run on diesel again to flush the engine of the cooking oil (I think that has something to do with the higher level of biodegradability of the vegetable oil). I'll try and find a link to the article for you.How do I convert a toyota corolla '97 to run from a gas powered to a vegetable oil powered vehicle?
do you realize vegetable oil costs more than gasoline per gallon? what would be the point of that? How do I convert a toyota corolla '97 to run from a gas powered to a vegetable oil powered vehicle?Go NAVY!!! you can't convert a gas fired engine to oil (diesel type) the mechanics are out side the limits for the combustion ratio's Diesel engines run cooler then gas engines, you can convert to ethanol though but I'm not sure how.
To answer your question your car runs on gas not a fuel oil like diesel so it wont run on corn oil however you can convert your car to run on alcohol note (there are less BTU's in alcohol than gas)your alcohol can be derived from corn (moonshine) is created from corn sour mash hope you have a big property. How do I convert a toyota corolla '97 to run from a gas powered to a vegetable oil powered vehicle? You have to replace your gasoline engine with a diesel one for starters. After that, with minor refinements (though not necessarily inexpensive) to used veggie oil you're in business. There would be no point in using new veggie oil as you wouldn't get the benefit of 2 uses from 1 product...reduce, reuse, recycle. How do I convert a toyota corolla '97 to run from a gas powered to a vegetable oil powered vehicle?
I just tried it in my 97' corolla and I'll be darned if the sucker didn't start right up!

Hey, wait a minute it's smoking, now sputtering, it just quit!! My engine is shot!!

You owe me a new car !!!

I'm sorry, I'm laughing my butt off right now, I know it was a serious question but I just had to write that response.
Well, you've hit the stumbling block. You need to run on a diesel engine to make that conversion work. While you could tinker around converting the gas engine to diesel, it would be easier to purchase a new diesel and drop it into your car if you want to run veggie oil power. How do I convert a toyota corolla '97 to run from a gas powered to a vegetable oil powered vehicle?
Hmm well i know that gas (petrol) cars have been run on kerosine which is very like diesel. So perhaps your vegetable oil could be done this way. You need to start on gas then flip over while driving.

You can make biodiesel out of vegetable using caustic. plenty of sites on this. There is also the poss of building a small cracker tower and stilling off a gas equiv from the veg oil. Dangerous process though.

Just guessing but perhaps if the veg oil is warmed and atomised (or more dangerously vapourised) then it could be fed into the carby throat using a LPG type aspirator. Most combustibles become flammable when lots of air around small particles or mixed with vapour.

Incedently your car will smell like a deep fryer or worse
To burn Veg oil you will need to have a compression ignition engine also known as a diesel. The corolla uses a typical spark ignition engine. There will be no possible way to convert it. I would suggest using a VW or Mercedes with diesel engine. There are many people and resources found on line to support the the conversion. Corolla engine just won't work. Sorry.

That should tell you more then enough about it. Almost all speedometers are off by a certain amount. There are regulations that say the speedo cannot read lower than you are actually going no matter what. There are so many factors that come into play that make it not economical to make the speedometer accurate in any car. This is why most car makers just make it read 5% or so higher then you're really going. If you have a handheld gps device you can usually get an accurate reading of what your actually speed is. In Japanese and European cars the speedometers are especially far off because it is common for people to put new wheels on these cars which will effect the speedometer reading. How much does it cost to get an engine rebuilt on a toyota truck?

This is the ad: "1986 Toyota Long Bed Pickup Truck 22R 150000. This was a great truck until it sprung an oil leak. I had the front seal replaced but it was the rear seal, now it knocks. Lots of newer parts, tires, master cylinder, clutch cylinder, starter, brakes, battery. I want to have the engine rebuilt but my wife wants it outta' here. $650.00 or first offer! "

IS THIS A GOOD DEAL?How much does it cost to get an engine rebuilt on a toyota truck? This is a much better deal than the other one you posted.

The 22R is an "easy" engine to work on. The tolerances aren't as tight as some other, more modern engines, and they just plain run forever.

There's a good chance that this engine will keep running, knock and all, for a looooong time. I'd try some Castrol Syntec or Slick-50. (I know the "experts" say it doesn't help but I've seen it help in older engines)

If you've got the time and some mechanical ability (and a place to work) this wouldn't be a bad project to take on. There are several really good dvds with step-by-step instructions for rebuilding this motor.

If all else fails a rebuilt 22re can be had for $500-1500. It's a much simpler engine than the v-6. The engine bay is still pretty tight, but it's easier to work around the 4-cyl than the 6.

You should end up with a decent truck for a couple grand tops. Make sure you check it out thoroughly and evaluate the total cost to get it roadworthy! "Small" things like suspension parts and electrical problems can add up too.

What's your location?? Drop me an emailHow much does it cost to get an engine rebuilt on a toyota truck? My nephew just had his done about 3 months ago and he paid a little over 9 hundred bucks at a good shop here in Dallas,Tx . Now remember you got to pull that motor and then get it rebuilt and then put it back . A little work and a little money and you should have a pretty nice truck that will probably out live you . I have a little bity teeny tiny toyota truck that's a 1992 model with 181,000 miles on it that my dad bought new . I got it when he died and it's been a great truck. I'd make him an offer of 450 or 500 . Wouldn't go over that . Remember it's a 86 model and you know you got to put another 8 or 9 or more into it so your looking at or around 15 hundred bucks into a 22 year old truck. Only way to get your money back out of that would be to drive it out . If your looking to buy and keep and drive then go for it . If your looking to make a profit , forget it. Think , 22 yr old truck.

How do you reset the "maintenance required" light on a Toyota Yaris after an oil change?
We will hope someone will know for sure.

Here a few to try. Not starting the car. Turn on the key and try holding the Gas pedal to the floor, or push 2-3 times to the floor. May hold the brake and try also. If, you have a display button that can scroll various information (Like Oil index, may show 50% stuff like that) Scroll to the oil display and push and hold the "Reset" button until it resets. May try disconnecting the battery, but, many may not clear on that.

These just guesses. Maybe someone will know for "Fact".
Make sure the odometer is showing mileage, not trip, turn key off.Push and hold the reset button in then turn ignition key on,number of mileage will turn into slashes and extinguish themself one after another, when number of mileage come back,it is done. How do you reset the "maintenance required" light on a Toyota Yaris after an oil change?
what? the dealership doesnt know how to do their own job? what are we even paying them for?!?

take it to an auto zone.

they should be able to re-set it for you for free.

they will need to walk out to your car, and get up underneith your dash (in most cases)

however, this is a problem for a few other people online: look what i found when i searched:

"If you mean the "CHECK ENGINE" light, check for the gas cap not being on tight enough. 99% of the time, this is the problem. "

if it really is your maintenance light try this:

"to reset the yaris maintenance light. turn the key switch to the "on" position. set the "ODO" to "TRIP A". while holding the reset button, turn key the key to "off" position then turn key to the "ON" position. the light will start blinking for about 5 second. continue to hold reset button until light goes out and "trip a" goes back to "0.0". "

there is an awesome forum you should have in your bookmarks. all kinds of great information if you have a yaris: (see sources)
Sounds stupid, but it worked for me - take the battery cables OFF completely - wait for about 30 minutes and reconnect - that gives the computer mechanism time to reset itself - this light should now go off. If not, under where the light is )at least in my vehicle), there is a little "window" - stick a pen tip through and push back the little dial to reset)..the red light should now go off. These are two things which I have used and they work! Good luck.
That's pretty stupid. A mechanic should be able to hook up your car to some kind of computer system that resets the light....plus, they should do it for free. Call around to the mechanics in your area and see if they'll do it.
According to Toyota, push and hold your odometer reset button and turn the key to "on" position until the light goes out.
Grab your owners manual and open it up to the appropriate page, and follow Toyota's procedure, anything else could and possible will ruin your car.

yea, my dad did that a few years ago with our previa...

what you should do is this. go to a junkyard and ask them for a door handle for a 94 corolla and tell them which door its for. they should have one because corolla's aren't rare...afterall, they're the best selling car in the world. anyways, so buy one, bring it to whatever mechanic you usually go to and they'll fix it. (not a dealership, way overpriced!!!).

How much herculiner would it take to paint the body of a toyota truck?

I want to paint my 1990 toyota truck but not sure how much bed liner to buy to cover the whole thingHow much herculiner would it take to paint the body of a toyota truck?Similar questions have been posed lately and I will re-iterate a response I had to another question regarding using a DIY truck bedliner product on truck exteriors:

DIY bedliner products (roll or spray) require a massive amount of prep work and patience in order to last for any length of time, ESPECIALLY if you plan on doing it over the entire body of your truck. You will end up spending much more time, effort and money in repairing all the nicks and scratches that are bound to show up on a DIY liner project.

Your best bet is to call your area professional applicator of spray-on bedliner products and ask if they have any experience spraying truck exteriors. Make sure you do your homework and check out their previous projects before making your decision -- a spray-on bedliner finished product is only as good as the applicator who sprayed it.

Going to a professional applicator in the end will save you money, time and energy!

  • Can i make my automatic toyota t100 a manual one?

    ive got a 97 toyota t100 sr5 4x4

i know by the sound of it the task is not going to be easy. the only problem that i have with my truck is that its a auto.your right i did buy it that way but i want a good project. i just need a little incite on what i need to start planning the parts i need and the way to go about doing it... and hely or comments are welcome! Can i make my automatic toyota t100 a manual one?If the T-100s came with a manual option, it will make your life a lot easier. I'm unaware of if they did or not, but if they did then you would need to source said transmission, the driveshaft(it may be different), clutch pedal/pedal assembly if it's different between the auto and manual versions; you'll also need the master cylinder and slave cylinder(assuming it's hydraulic), as well as a clutch itself, as well as any random assorted bracketry.

If they didn't come with a manual option.....You'd have to find a manual that will bolt up to your engine (3.4 liter?), and find parts that will work from other vehicles, or custom make them.

    Best of luck!

Why are Mercedes cars expensive? What makes them different than say a Toyota model?

I'm just starting to drive and I'm just curious as to why cars are more epxensive than others.

Why is a mercedes like 90,000 dollars when a toyota is about 6,000? What makes them different? Please explain.

Also, are the expensive cars WORTH it in your opinion? Why are Mercedes cars expensive? What makes them different than say a Toyota model?Mercedes are a luxury car, much much more durable, reliable and is very safe. It's basically the name(brand) of the car, Mercedes has a good reputation and is manufactured in Germany as Toyota in Japan because it is a Japanese.

Toyota is a lower grade car and doesn't have that good of a reputation. They're not half bad, but i would personally choose the Mercedes

And yes, expensive cars are worth it, because they are much durable, reliable and saferWhy are Mercedes cars expensive? What makes them different than say a Toyota model?
Have you shopped for a new Toyota lately? The last time you could buy a brand new Toyota for $6000 was sometime back in 1980's. The least expensive Toyota model today is the Yaris which starts at just over $13,000 (and that is before you add any options, freight, tax, etc.)

If you want to make a fair price comparison, you should not be comparing a Benz to a Toyota but rather to a Lexus (the luxury arm of Toyota). You will then notice that vehicle prices are much more similar.

Are luxury cars worth it? You can argue that both ways. On one hand, no new car is worth the money because you know when you buy it that it is a depreciating asset. In other words, as soon as you drive if off the lot, the resale value of the car drops.

On the other hand, a luxury vehicle, while more expensive, does buy you not only a more comfortable vehicle, but also one packaged with more technologies, including safety items (ABS brakes, traction control, and air bags are each examples of this). It's no big secret that manufacturers introduce their latest technologies on their top models and then allow it to filter down to the rest of their vehicle line-up.Why are Mercedes cars expensive? What makes them different than say a Toyota model? The name.

Toyotas suck... I don't get why anyone would buy one after the recall.

No, expensive cars aren't worth it..

What are good websites for toyota corolla parts?

I own a 1999 Toyota Corolla, I want to know if there is any websites where I can buy parts/kits for things such as the engine, transmission, and other major things, for cheap of course, to bring this car back up to good driving condition.

Also, if I decide to replace the engine and transmission entirely, what makes and models will fit into a 1999 corolla aside from the original(preferably from newer cars). What are good websites for toyota corolla parts? You won't always need to use new parts as your Corolla is not

yes you can. Can get a chart to put on your wall then lights that attach to each tire hub. Have to learn how to adjust the caster, camber and toe. You can but it aint easy get a a tape rule or a yard stick the tape is easier though thats the easy part now measure the back of the tire then measure the front on the tire to the middle of the tread on both sides now crawl under there and remove the the panel first then you will be able to see the tie rod ends and you can see a place on each one with 2 bolts lossen the bolts and turn these 2 they are like turnbuckles turn these a 1 complete turn at the most at a time climb out and measure again until both sides front and back are within a 1/4 inch of each other or you can make it easy on yourself and spend the 70 bucksCan a person DIY an alignment at their home garage on a Toyota Tacoma 4x4?Give it a go with some kind of laser level. A totally flat concrete surface would help. You can make the tow in gauge by using 2 sticks one on top the other with a couple of zip ties to keep them together -see below how to make the ends.. • Can a person DIY an alignment at their home garage on a Toyota Tacoma 4x4?

I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4wd and I would like to try and save $70 bucks if I can do the alignment myself. So far my camber on my driver side right tire is off i know this because of the abnormal tire wear. If I can rent some tools what would I need? Can a person DIY an alignment at their home garage on a Toyota Tacoma 4x4?I would say it wouldn't be worth the time, and effort ,machines are made for precise degree angles why spend hours of guessing if its going to work and jeopordize your tires wear over time , and just have to pay someone to fix it anyway. Some things are not worth the hassle and better to get it done right the first time.Just because you can go to a store and rent a nail gun and compressor doesn't mean your qualified to build a house.Just my 2 cents. Can a person DIY an alignment at their home garage on a Toyota Tacoma 4x4?
yes you can. Can get a chart to put on your wall then lights that attach to each tire hub. Have to learn how to adjust the caster, camber and toe. You can purchase the turn table for each wheel to set the truck on. So it will swivel while being adjusted. Can a person DIY an alignment at their home garage on a Toyota Tacoma 4x4?Pay someone. Can a person DIY an alignment at their home garage on a Toyota Tacoma 4x4?
How much should it cost to replace a oxygen sensor on 03 Toyota Corolla?

I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla and it seems one of the oxygen sensors has become faulty. A mechanic told me it would be somewhere around 1200 with parts and labor, but I cant imagine it would cost that much. Please let me know if you know any better.

ThanksHow much should it cost to replace a oxygen sensor on 03 Toyota Corolla?they lied to you i changed my friends o2 sensor on his 98 ford explorer it was no more than 200 dollars for the part its just a little piece. How much should it cost to replace a oxygen sensor on 03 Toyota Corolla?$1200!!!! for just one O2 sensor? geez! yeah this mechanic is trying to rip you off. we don't even charge $400 for this here at my toyota dealer.

becareful with these mechanics trying to sell you O2 sensors. they love doing that. but it's not always that O2 sensor that goes bad. looks like you need a REAL diagnosis to see what your car really needs. take it to a toyota dealer where we know what we are doing.

heads up: if you end up needing a catalytic converter for some reason (which is what usually happens), it will be around $1200 for just the part. i've seen people get aftermarket catalytic converters in their toyotas because they did not want to pay $1200 for factory one (i don't blame them), and they come back to my dealer because the check engine light is on. turns out the aftermarket CATs do not meet the parameters set by toyota. so the check engine light comes on.

    2)It really depends.

Virgin Supras are rare (no mods) and they can go up to 40K for a fully build race ready Twin turbo.

But for starters...look for the price range around 9K-15K for a high mileage one with very few mods.

What type of coolant/antifreeze should I use for my 2002 Toyota Corolla?

I always thought antifreeze was green, or maybe orange, but my Toyota Corolla's overflow tank has red colored fluid. I don't want to ruin the engine with the wrong coolant. Suggestions? Thanks! What type of coolant/antifreeze should I use for my 2002 Toyota Corolla?Toyota has 2 types of coolent, Red and Pink.

The red is a long life and the pink is a super long life.

What type of coolant/antifreeze should I use for my 2002 Toyota Corolla?either look in your owners manual, call a toyota dealership and ask. but if you open the cap and look in the recovery tank, is the fluid in there an orange color or yellow?

Orange is dexcool which is what i am thinking it is, and yellow (there is a 100$ name for this anti-freeze that is 3 miles long) is the original anti freeze. if you spill any of it, clean it up please. What type of coolant/antifreeze should I use for my 2002 Toyota Corolla?
Toyota has a special kind of coolant for their rigs, check with a parts store or a Toyota Dealer. Don't mix one with another. What type of coolant/antifreeze should I use for my 2002 Toyota Corolla?it should be greenWhat type of coolant/antifreeze should I use for my 2002 Toyota Corolla?
Your Toyota has antifreeze made from ethelyne glycol with a red dye. That means this is the same as the green coolant that you are use to. There is now a yellow (universal) coolant/antifreeze that is safe for all vehicles. The orange coolant you are referring to is a silicone base long life coolant or GM branded DEX-COOL. I would recommend to you the universal coolant or green coolant.

How does Toyota's factory-to-dealer incentive program work?

I was once told that Toyota sets quotas for its dealers for programs that do NOT necessarily fall onto monthly boundaries (i.e., ending on the last day of the month). For example, they may run a program from June 17th- July 16th whereby a dealer is given a quota of, say, 150 units. If they reach their quota sales, they are rewarded with a rebate of, say, $1,500 per unit. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed true?

If so, does Toyota employ the same program for Lexus? How does Toyota's factory-to-dealer incentive program work? You have the right idea, but the per unit number wasn't usually that much. Also, many of the rebates come from the distributor, not Toyota directly. For instance, I live in Florida and the incentives were driven almost exclusively by a company called "Southeast Toyota" which imported the cars into this part of the country. In my experience, the programs weren't for over a weekend, but for a big chunk of the month. Like, the "fast start" quotas were for the 1st throught 10th of the month. Or, it might only apply to certain vehicle classes, like trucks. Hope this helps! How does Toyota's factory-to-dealer incentive program work?No idea!! Sorry :-)

water4gasHow can i add a little more juice into my 1993 toyota corolla?
There might be a chip you can install to replace the stock one so it runs more efficient. Otherwise you need to make it breathe easier. So a header and free flow exhaust will give you a little bit. Then install a cool air intake system, this will give you very little in performance. Installing a turbo or supercharger might be too much for your old engine so I would advise against it. For what you are going to get out of these additions you are still going to have a slow car. So you need to rebuild your engine so a new cam and new pistons can be installed. Then get it to breathe and you will be making horsepower that you will notice. Otherwise your only other option is getting a car with more horsepower. How can i add a little more juice into my 1993 toyota corolla?Look into modifying the intake system. You can free up a few horsepower by removing the restrictions, though you will get more sound (or noise depending on how you look at it) and better throttle response.

You could find the intake resonator and remove it. It is usually a plastic box in the fender that cancels out intake noise at certain frequency and does little else.

You could buy a cold air intake system or a short ram intake. You could simply buy a K %26amp; N cone filter ($40), remove the air filter and box, and attach it to the end of the intake pipe.

How can I fit two carseats in the back of a Toyota Prius?

I drive a Toyota Prius. I currently have one infant car seat in the middle of the back because it has to fit between the bucket seats (the depth is to long to go directly behind the drivers or passenger seats). Does anyone have a recommendation for a convertible car seat that is not very deep when installed rear facing? We are about to have 2 babies, and I know that two infant car seats won't fit. Any ideas? I don't have the option of buying a different car. Thanks in advance. How can I fit two carseats in the back of a Toyota Prius?Well the obvious answer is to go to a store that will let you try the floor models in your car, but those are getting harder to find.

There is some info here on which seats fit in a Prius: http://www.carseatdata.org/main/search?e鈥?/a>

Personally I have an Eddie Bauer/Alpha Omega Elite (also sold as Costco and something else) and an Evenflo Triumph Advanced. The Eddie Bauer even with the base removed takes up far more space forcing the seat in front of it forward. The evenflo though wider (1.5-2") takes up less space depth wise (at least 3").

Another smaller seat is the Sunshine Radian which is made with more metal than plastic so it is smaller on the outside while allowing one of the widest interiors for bigger babies. I don't know specifically about depth though this only gives the base depth which is only part of the answer:

we own the britax marathon which came up on the list. I have had the unfortunate experience of being in two different car acidents(not my fault) with two of my kids as they were in these seats. They came through 100% fine other than shaken up. Good luck and congratsHow can I fit two carseats in the back of a Toyota Prius? You're really going to be SOL here, they all take up about the same amount of room. However, the links below of users report the Britax Marathon fits backwards as does the Britax Boulevard and a Radian. I'd go to a store that has a generous return policy and try it out.

Do you drink a lot of red kool aid?

Maybe there is a leak in your trans. Is it an automatic?
It could be from your clutch or your brakes. maybe a bad seal. But that fluid should be clear or a little brownish. It sounds like transmission fluid, but off hand, I can't say that I've seen transmission fluid leak into the cabin. See what fluids you are low on. That'll be the one that is leaking. good luck. What would cause a red tinted liquid to soak through the driver's side carpet in my Toyota Camry? It could be the clutch master cylinder or the brake master cylinder , it needs to be inspected and the system repaired. What would cause a red tinted liquid to soak through the driver's side carpet in my Toyota Camry?
    your Transmission is leaking.
It sounds like it could be transmission fluid. If the car has a manual transmission, it could be from the hydraulic clutch master cylinder. Look up under the dash and see if there are traces of the same fluid on the clutch pedal or any of it's linkages. Next, take a look and see if the clutch fluid reservoir is low. If this isn't the case, ask the question again and specify a little more info about your car. What would cause a red tinted liquid to soak through the driver's side carpet in my Toyota Camry?
unless the tranny exploded throwing the planetary gears in to the cab, I dought youd get tranny oil there.

    hummmm

lets see, I'd start by offering a $20 reward to the brats for informtation leading the truth of said liquid.

I bet you have trolls , huh?
Toyota brand anti-freeze is red. It will feel a little oily. If they used that red kind, it could be your heater core. When your engine is cool, take off the radiator cap and see if you have the red anti-freeze.
Sounds like Transmission Fluid. could be leaking in. Get it checked before it gets worse.
Did someone get killed in there recently? could be blood.

Who is the cheapest toyota car dealarship in orange to long beach and near cities?

elmore?toyota of orange? irvine toyota or costa mesa? if you know any dealership that gives a very cheap deal please tell me, its for the toyota yaris sedan 2008 automatic transmission, and i know your gonna say ita about my credits ill tell you now i have no credit.Who is the cheapest toyota car dealarship in orange to long beach and near cities? There is no dealer that is cheaper than another. No matter what they tell you, they all pay the same price for the cars. You can get a good deal anywhere. Just look up invoice prices BEFORE you go to the dealership. Do not let them show you the invoice since alot of dealerships doctor them. Dont' pay for crap like fabric protection and stuff the dealer tries to add. It was added at the factory usually and they jsut want to charge you for it anyway.

You mentioned you have no credit. That could be a problem. To qualify for a loan you need some sort of credit history. Do you at least have a debit card from your bank? I would apply for a loan with your bank first. See what type of rate they offer you. Then tell your salesperson you have a loan already, but you will go with their financing if they can beat that rate. Don't tell them what that rate is.

You need to be careful with what you tell the car dealer. Don't tell them your interest rate, your monthly budget, or anything. Just tell them the car you want. Don't get too excited about the car in front of them either.

Don't let them talk to you in monthly payments. They come at you with high payments, only to lower them- yet you are still paying the same amount for the car. They just changed you from paying a loan for 36 months to paying one for 60. Talk about the actual sales price and fees they added.

But do your research first. Find a model you like, get the VIN number and find an invoice online. There are websites that will show them to you. Find out what (if any) rebates there are in your area from the Toyota website. Take invoice price, minus rebates and add $500. Don't pay more than that for the car.

Submit an internet request to multiple dealerships. Get a written copy of the offer and the details of the vehicle. Take it to another dealership. Let them find an identical vehicle (don't let them trade you one without the same options!!) and beat the price.

Don't be in a rush. The whole process could take a few weeks, but you won't overpay.Who is the cheapest toyota car dealarship in orange to long beach and near cities?THE BEST THING TO DO IS ASK AROUND YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD AS WELL AS AT WORK AND SEE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE SAYING.

REMEMBER THAT WORD OF MOUTH IS ALWAYS THE BEST ADVERTISEMENT AROUND.

GOOD LUCK.Who is the cheapest toyota car dealarship in orange to long beach and near cities? It is absolutely illegal to alter a factory invoice! Don't believe the hype that dealers doctor them, it's simply not done. The liability to the dealership for that sort of thing is unbelievable. You should go to Longo Toyota in El Monte they are the largest in the world and have the best shot at getting you financed, if not, come see me at Galpin Ford and we'll make it happen. Be resonable though, if someone can arrange financing for you, it will be on the banks terms, not yours.

  • What is the largest speaker i could fit in a 1990 toyota pickup?

I have a 1990 toyota pickup truck and i'm considering installing some new door speakers because the small dash speakers aren't very nice. I don't really want to take the door panel off right now, does anyone know the largest sized speaker i can fit in the door? What is the largest speaker i could fit in a 1990 toyota pickup?you can fit a 6x9 but 6.5s will fit better and always come with there own grills for a clean look. What is the largest speaker i could fit in a 1990 toyota pickup?Without more details and unless I had a similar truck, I chose to go to one of the more common speaker manufacterers of Jensen. Using the basic fact of 1990 Toyota pickup, I came up with this.

Not sure if you were to do the installation yourself, but another simple choice is to go to a car stereo dealership and have them recommend what speaker could be used. You're not obligated to buy from them, but it's possible they could make you a reasonable offer. If the door is already wired for speakers, you would simply mount replacement ones. However, if you only have the dash ones you are complaining about, perhaps a car stereo dealer might be worth the extra labor and quickness in time to get new speakers in, don't you think?

Good luck. What is the largest speaker i could fit in a 1990 toyota pickup?heck with the doors/get giant monster and put in the bed/that will be loud enough

How do I use the shiftronic feature on a 2011 Toyota Camry?

Hey, I purchased my 2011 Toyota Camry LE this past summer and I have grown very curious on how to use shiftronic. I know its similar to manual and I've been looking for answers online but have come up short. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance! How do I use the shiftronic feature on a 2011 Toyota Camry? If you look at your shift gate, next to "D", there should be a + - labeled "S". All you have to do is once you put your car into D, just put the shift lever to the left, from there on, you are manually controlling the gears and gear changing, (kind of like a manual but without the clutch, the computer takes care of the clutch for you).

+ is for upshift, - is for downshift, to be safe, you should upshift when your RPMs hit around 3000.How do I use the shiftronic feature on a 2011 Toyota Camry? To downshift to first gear you should be at a complete stop. Otherwise, in general you can downshift when your rpms are below 2000 or even 1500.

Why doesn't Toyota make a car that looks like a Lamborghini but gets the fuel economy of a Prius?

There is a Tesla Roadster, (not Toyota) that costs $100,000 that looks cool and doesn't use gas.

Lamborghinis look cool but are gas guzzlers and costs too much.

Prius pricing is affordable and gets good fuel economy but looks hideous. Why doesn't Toyota make a car that looks like a Lamborghini but gets the fuel economy of a Prius? You know, I just heard someone with marketing credentials say on the radio that the reason that the Prius is successful is the fact that Toyota made it with a distinct body style, versus the Civic hybrid which is the same body style as the gas powered Civic.

I think in the end, it depends on what the car manufacturer thinks can sell enough to bring a profit. That said, Toyota has not had a sports car model in awhile here in the US. No more MR2 or Celica. I think for as successful as Toyota is, they've had challenges in this particular area. Why doesn't Toyota make a car that looks like a Lamborghini but gets the fuel economy of a Prius?
Lamborghinis arent that nice outside , There made in that form to be faster..

Why doesn't Toyota make a car that looks like a Lamborghini but gets the fuel economy of a Prius? Some people think the Prius is ugly, other think it looks cool.

The reason it looks that way is because it's the most aerodynamic car on the road right now.

I think the main reason that people buy the Honda Civic hybrid is because it looks like a regular car and they don't like the look of the Prius, because in almost every aspect, the Prius is a superior car.

Of course, the Prius sells about 5 times more models than the Civic hybrid. So most people clearly don't think it's hideous. Why doesn't Toyota make a car that looks like a Lamborghini but gets the fuel economy of a Prius?
celica is the way to go on this one check out the veilside body kit on it! yet it get 36 mpg on the highway! Why doesn't Toyota make a car that looks like a Lamborghini but gets the fuel economy of a Prius? This is like asking why can't a banana taste like an apple

How often should a Toyota 4Runner have the following items performed?

I have the owners manual w/ manufactuer recommendations, but approximately and reasonably how often, under average conditions would a 1999 Toyota 4Runner need:

    1) Brake fluid flush

    2) Transmission fluid flush

    3) Transfer case service

    4) Power steering fluid flushHow often should a Toyota 4Runner have the following items performed?we recommend that all of those items be flushed or replaced (transfer case, rear differential and front differential... if you have a 4x4. if just 2 wheel drive, rear differential only)

How much do you think it would be for the Toyota Dealer to replace my electrical harness??

    It is a 93 Toyota T100 V6 3.0 engine.

What do you think the labor hours would be?

Guessing, what do you think the price of the harness would be around??

Thanks for your answers! How much do you think it would be for the Toyota Dealer to replace my electrical harness??Which harness? There are usually at least 2 harnesses in the car. The engine almost always has its own harness, the instrument panel will probably have its own, and then there may be a body harness for the interior that connects to the rear of the vehicle and the outside connections. Usually though a harness replacement is expensive and unnecessary because you can replace the terminals or connectors. The only time I do harnesses is major burn damage either from an actual fire or just a shorted wire that burned a bunch of wires together. How much do you think it would be for the Toyota Dealer to replace my electrical harness??

all u gotta do is go there and get a quote. How much do you think it would be for the Toyota Dealer to replace my electrical harness??This might seem like a strange concept but instead of getting wild guesses here on what would be a highly unusual job no one here is likely to have any experience with, just call the dealer and get a real answer. How much do you think it would be for the Toyota Dealer to replace my electrical harness??
I've seen a full harness for Vauxhall, it's huge!! Probably cheaper to get another car.

I have rewired a car from scratch, mind you it was an MG TD. Pain of a job.
