easy one to do, locate it first, follow the 3 inch radiator hose from the top of the radiator to the top of the engine and it should be where this hose connects to the engine, Two bolts to remove-remove them, gently tap the little housing with a piece of wood or wedge a screwdriver between the block and 4-5 inch housing and pop it up,
.clean and scrap off the surfaces that touch each other, install new thermostat with the proper side down, just as the old one came out, apply gasket sealer to the gasket and block. put the little housing on and turn in the two bolts, do not over tighten
(some thermostats have a design with a different gasket, a rubber one that needs no sealer, check when you remove)
after tightening the bolts, add antifreeze, leave cap off, start it up and wait until the level drops down, add more to fill, then close cap. Run engine or drive, next day fine too, third day before starting it up, open cap to recheck antifreeze level, add and apply cap.

You will first have to call GMAC if that's who the lease is through to find out their guidelines for turning in a lease. If you want to just turn it in they will probably tell you you have to drop it off at the dealership you leased from or some other dealership of their specification so they can inspect your Grand Prix to make sure you don't owe anything from mileage overages or too much wear and tear. Assuming it meats the guidelines and you have a clean turn-in, you can just leave one lot and go to the Honda or Toyota dealer to purchase your next car. If you have to pay anything due to the mileage or condition restraints, you will have to first clear that up, then get a letter from the dealer and/or GMAC stating that the lease is satisfied. The new dealer will need this information in order to finance you for a new car.
Now, if you're turning it in early or the conditions can't be met, you'll have to just trade it in for the new car. This will probably land you in hot water because the lease gives you lower payments which doesn't eat away at your payoff as fast as a regular purchase. So the Honda and Toyota dealers will have to call GMAC to get your payoff and then they give you a trade figure for your vehicle. Assuming they can finance any negative equity you have, which shouldn't be a problem assuming your credit is as you say, then they can just sell you their car no problem and keep the Grand Prix as a trade. Hyundai's were subpar quality until the mid-90's and only average quality until about 2001, they've since moved into the top 10 out of the 36 brands sold in America. The value of the Accent like all small cars has gone up in the last year with the rise in gas prices. As you've found out, that same 2005 Accent cost about the same as a 2002 Civic that has many more miles on it. Take advantage of this value while you can as Hyundai values continue to rise each year.

I have a 1992 lifted Toyota 4x4 5-speed 6-cylinder pickup truck that has been sitting in my driveway for five years now and am looking to get it back in good reliable running shape. to test for parasitic draw: disconnect the negative battery cable. set your DMM to amps. place one lead to the negative cable end, and the other to the negative battery terminal. if you get more than about 37 mili amps, you have a parasitic draw somewhere. start disconnecting stuff to see if it goes away. when it does, that is the system with your draw.
to test your alternator: preferably a hand held starting/charging tester is the way to test your alternator. but if you don't have one, you can try with the DMM. with the engine running, turn all accessories on (radio, A/C, lights), place your red lead of the DMM to the positive battery terminal and the negative lead to the negative battery terminal. you should get around 13-14volts. if it's around 11 or 12 or under, your alternator is probably bad.

I'd bet that a 350 would fit with minimal work though, and if you search for it, I guarantee that there's at least one '94 Toyota PU with a 350 in it.

Will the Toyota recall effect the price of Camrys bought at the car auction?
Im in the market for a new car and I have a friend looking at the Detroit Auto Auction for 2008 Toyota Camry. But with this huge recall Toyota has what will happen to the prices? Will they go down because of it or will they increase? And will I even be able to buy a Camry at the auction because Toyota stopped the sale of them from all dealers? How to use lower gears on the 2009 Toyota Camry LE?
I recently purchased an AUTOMATIC 2009 Toyota Camry LE. This car is NOT SEMI-AUTOMATIC but does have the lower gears of 4, 3, 2, and 1 under D. Is it okay to use these gears regularly to manually shift the engine? If so, at what rpm would you recommend shifting up and down?How to use lower gears on the 2009 Toyota Camry LE?With an auto tranny, it is best to just keep the tranny set for the D setting, so that the car can shift for itself.

Mucho Big Bucks have been spent by Toyota, and all of the car makers, to give the very best performance out of an auto transmission, so that you get the best ratio of performance and economy. The individual gears are there if they are needed under SPECIAL circumstances.
Such as driving thru mountains, when going downhill for a long ways, you want to shift into lower gears, so that you don't have to use the brakes much, otherwise, you could actually overuse and overheat and over-destroy the brakes. That's why the 3 and 2 settings of the gears are avalable, especially the 2 setting. 1st gear is used only if you're going to be towing something for a short distance, or even if you need to try and get car out of snow or sand.
I'm not sure about what rpms you should use to shift, because that pretty much depends upon what the redline is for each individual car. A higher redline means that each gear can go higher rpms.
It's easier to find out by speed.
1st gear usually should be shifted around 10-15 mph, and usually tops out at 25.
2nd gear usually can be shifted at 25, and sometimes can go as high as freeway speeds, which is why it is the favorite gear to use when coming down from mtns, because the gear can go faster, yet has the torque available to keep car at lower speeds. But if your car is a 5 spd, the range of 2nd gear in your car may be lessened.
3rd gear will be good from 35 up to freeway speeds of 60-70 mph. But it's obviously best to run freeways at at least 4th gear, which can be shifted into even as low as 40 mph, or 45 mph. 5th gear is best only for constant freeway speeds.
Have you ridden a 10 speed bike? YOu know it's easiest to start peddling when the gears are low, because the pedals move faster, and in shifting as you pick up speed, so that the pedals are still able to be used safely and correctly. It's exactly the same with a car transmission, whether auto or manual.
So if you're thinking of using the single gears as if they were a manual tranny, I"d greatly suggest you NOT to do it. There's lots of extra gears and works inside an auto tranny that's not in a manual, and constantly moving the gears manually will wear the tranny out other than being done automatically. The tranny was built with it to be used automatically. How can I get informaiton about complaints on Toyota Matrix's?
I bought a Toyota Matrix. The battery was dead a week later. I took the car back to the dealer and they told me to buy a bettery with more Cold cranking amps. I did and the car would not start again. So back to the dealer. They told me to buy yet another battery. It worked ok for about a week. Then while on vaction the battery is dead again. I just purchase used Toyota minivan Sienna year 2000. It has 65,000 miles on it. I already changed the timing belt, thermal start and all the belts. My question is what else I need to replace. Gas miles in the city is 16 mpg with ac on. Is it normal or too much. Please advise.

You should do the math 36x258+2,700=11,988 that is the cost to drive the vehical 3 years if I don't excede 12,000 miles. This next part is the part that is differnt than leasing. In 3 years I have 3 choices. 1 give truck back walk away. 2 Buy tuck for 18,700 I could finace or pay cash. 3 sell truck for more than 18,700 and keep rest of money this may be posible. check value of tundra in 04 3 years ago $24,000 If I can sell my truck for $24,000 in 3 years then I would have $6000 left. then it would have only cost $6,000 to drive the truck for 3 years.

For example, some Japanese cars have computer chips that determine the best power capacity needed for the ride at specific interval. One more thing... have you ever noticed how Japanese made it so easy to remove any mechanical part of the car using one tool, while American ones require a lot of tools?
This is due to innovative technologies and design. I wish we can accomplish the same.What are foreign car companys such as Toyota and Hondya doing?It's not so much what they are doing now but what the Japanese and Europeans have been doing for decades. They have been spending a lot of money and time to make their product better and safer while the American companies have just been using same old technology over and over only with the goal of getting more power out of them. All the foreign car companies that have been experimenting with turbo charging, rotary engines, horizontally opposes engines. So many new innovations. While the American companies, since Ford starting making the first mass produced affordable car, has contributed nothing positive to the industry. It just seems like they have no pride in what they do.

An 8X1.25 bolt will fit in to these. put one in each and turn them both equally in small amounts and the drum will come off. How difficult is it to change an oil pump in a 1992 camry toyota?

Especially in an older car the Oring between the oil pump body and the housing bakes and gets hard, and won't hold pressure. It is amazing how much oil it will leak. But I am worried about the light coming on, as that leak doesn't usually cause that unless the oil is very low. You may have two problems. If those engines get very stopped up with gunk and or sludge, they can't pick up enough oil and the light will come on. I would repair the oil pump oring, all the front seals (don't just stop with the obvious) and then see if the light still stays on. If it does, you may need to pull the oil pan and have the pickup tube checked, and possibly the bearings. All these repairs can easily be done with the engine in the car.

The camry has an internal oil pump, so a leak would not be external, Oil would all stay in the crankcase.
Yeah, it would be expensive to fix. Easiest to take engine out.
The leak points are Valve cover gasket, Oil pan gasket, front and rear main seals, and occasionally, Head Gasket.
Take the car to a pressure washer type car wash. Wash the engine, being careful not to wet electric parts. Note where oil is coming from.

If it is a 4 Cylinder than you have a external pump, you need to remove the Timing Belt to change the pump.
It is not that hard to change if you are good with tools.

I have a 04 toyota echo and am looking to get a second car.
