How to upgrade the gas miles on Toyota sienna model 2000?

I just purchase used Toyota minivan Sienna year 2000. It has 65,000 miles on it. I already changed the timing belt, thermal start and all the belts. My question is what else I need to replace. Gas miles in the city is 16 mpg with ac on. Is it normal or too much. Please advise.

19 is roughly average. 16 is slightly low, but hardly low enough to be concerned.

Timing belt, thermal start, belts....really don't have much to do with fuel economy.

Change your sparkplugs, get a tuneup, and you should gain 1mpg or so.

Or drive more moderately. How to upgrade the gas miles on Toyota sienna model 2000?
