Why are Nissan Skylines and Toyota Supra illegal in some states? Someone told me it was because the could out speed cop cars. Is that true? And is a Toyota supra a really good racing car because I am feeling like buying one. Could they beat cars like lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Vipers?Why are Nissan Skylines and Toyota Supra illegal in some states?There is no doubt the Skyline and Supra's are great cars and well proven in motor sports,there engines are super tunable and have been popular for many years the Skyline since 1957.



The more recent Rb and 2jz engines are a tuners fav due to being detuned stock and actual stockrunning is close to 600bhp and well over 1000bhp with further mods,but what makes them popular is the easy way to get this power from these engines and these are bullet proof engines.



The Supra is a great car and can easy beat the Ferrari models etc as said the tt 2jz version can be seen running over 1000bhp and the same witht he RB26 skyline engines also,and the rb25 engine can be seen at 1000bhp.



There are legal Supra versions in the US ,also there are Skylines which where sold throught the late Motorex and now sneak in through loopholes.

Nissan Skylines and Toyota Supras potential is endless, these are notorious cars known as ferarri killers. They can easily be modded, and gain up to 1000 hp. The only reason you don't see skylines as much is because they can't be legallized for circulation since they are from japan and have to be imported into the US, as of supras they were sold here and are easily legalized for driving, but some speculated that were discontinued in the US because they could easility outrun cops, if your looking to buy that supra, have at least 25-35 grand in your pocket for a un-modded stock toyota supra, and a little left over for maintenence since this is a really sports car and maintenence is crucial good luckWhy are Nissan Skylines and Toyota Supra illegal in some states?skylines are illegal in the states because they dont meet emissions standards but Supras are completely legal in all the states and if your going racing with a supra your going to be able to tear up so many cars its not even funny maybe not lambos or Ferrari's but if you put say 15k under the hood you can beat lambos and Ferrari's no problem btw the only way to get skylines in the states is if you go through a company call motorex and im pretty sure there closed down now sorry
Emissions. Both of these had "california editions". To own one in California you have to have a "cali-cat" (California Catalytic Converter - cute huh?) and a door sticker which indicates it's a "California car".

If you're talking about the Nissan GTR than probably not, this car should not be illegal, the cop thing could be true for this car.



Also Supra cannot compete with a Viper, Lambo, Ferrari. The've got 8-10 cylinders and supra is only V6 (twin turbos). Supra is fast only when you're comparing to other tuner cars like Sentra SER Spec V, Skyline, Civic SI, RX-7, RX-8, Evo, Subaru. Supra is a fast car, boring interior but its actually worth to buy, if your into speed and nice cars.

a good skyline twin turbo like godziller or gtr are verry fast cars if worked they can beat a police car lol stock standard are like 0.6sec 0kph to 100kph but thr rx7 are the fastest
