What is the value of a 1989 Toyota pickup?

I am thinking of buying a used red Toyota pickup with 5 speed tranny and it is in great condition and runs great. There is a small spot of rust about the size of a quarter which isnt really a problem. It has 204, 000 kms, and it needs a new set of tires. The guy is asking 5,500 or best offer. I think this is a bit much but I really have no idea because I havent researched it much. What is the value of a 1989 Toyota pickup?5,500 is a bit too much. The late 80's early 90's Tacoma's (I'm assuming that's what it is) have a reputation as being bulletproof. That being said, a lot of sellers think they can get away with charging an arm and a leg for such vehicles. Do your research. Find out what other people are buying and selling similar year Tacomas in your area for. The prospect of you telling a motivated seller "Hey I can go across town and get the same truck for less" will help you. Also get an independent mechanic to inspect the truck. Any faults can be used as bargaining chips. 204 kms is only about 127k miles (I'm ball parking) which is really nothing for a well maintained Toyota. Decide what you're willing to pay and start with a low ball offer. Work up until you've reached that max or the seller has agreed to sell. Good luck with it.What is the value of a 1989 Toyota pickup? You can find out the true value by going to carfax.com or kelleybluebook.com these sites should be able to help you figure out how much the truck is worth. What is the value of a 1989 Toyota pickup?$1000 US
