Is Toyota a good brand of cars to be selling?

I work for a Chevy dealership now, but have been offered a position at a Toyota dealership as an internet manager. Do you feel like the company is going the right direction?Is Toyota a good brand of cars to be selling?If you look at the Toyota dealer network, there are a lot fewer Toyota dealers than GM dealers. Because of that, I would expect that a Toyota dealership does a lot more business than a Chevy dealership. If you're in a major metro area, there are probably 2 or 3 other Chevy dealers within a half hour drive, but no other Toyota dealers.



Toyota is growing too fast and they are having a lot of recalls right now. That means lots of service work at the dealership!



GM's quality is on the rise, so the service work will be decreasing and dealers don't make a lot of money from vehicle sales.

yes 100%. they are great cars that last forever and they look good, if they are paying you more then take it, go where the $$$ is..Is Toyota a good brand of cars to be selling?Toyota has been outselling American made cars for years now. Right now isn't a great time to be working for any car manufacturer, but Toyota is a safer bet than Chrysler or ford right now. GM seems to be doing okay, since they offer so many different cars under so many different brands. What this really comes down to is do you want to work for an American company selling American products, or a foreign company selling their products. It is also important to look out for your family, do whatever will be best for them.

The downside to selling toyotas: last month they recalled 417,000 cars. Last year 1.7 million recalls total. (multiple recalls on several cars.

The upside to selling toyotas: The only thing you will ever have to say to anyone is "cmon, its a Toyota"

What matters more than the brand you sell is how well do they pay.

I work at a Lincoln Dealership, I probably sell half as many cars as I did when i worked for Nissan, but I make twice as much. I would rather sell less cars and make more money.

If you feel like the place you're at is not paying you enough, go to Toyota, you'll probably sell more cars. What they pay might be another story.
