How are prices of American car companies changing after Toyota's recall?

After Toyota's recent massive recall, are their prices a lot lower? Are competing company prices lower as well, such as Ford, Honda, and GM? Give sources if possible!How are prices of American car companies changing after Toyota's recall?there prices do not change, however this is an opportuniny to gain customers. so some american companies(and others) are offering incentives towards japanese car owners. but this is not a dirty tactic, toyota in simular situation is always the first to act on these opportunities in past. they to are offering incentives to their customers to avoid loosing them such as 0% financing. i believe they call it their red tag sales event. funny because in my industry we put red tags on broken and defective machinery and equipment until it is repaired or taken out of service. lol

@undercover.

americans hang on to the american vehicles much longer than they do foreign vehicles. our life expectancy is much longer as our parts are more heavy duty. fact. it is also generally cheaper for this reason to own american. even after considering the better gas millage of the japanese vehicles.

this also shows toyota's green image is false.

bizzare hummer vs prius:

The sticker prices are the same. Why lower the prices when they now have former Toyota customers? My nephew said GM got bailed out sooner by the huge influx of customers that would have purchased a Toyota. He is a salesman and is selling every Chevrolet vehicle on the lot since the recall.How are prices of American car companies changing after Toyota's recall?They are about the same since they don't have to worry about getting rid of low quality vehicles like Japan does.

Nice try "Undercover" but the majority disagrees with you, proof here: http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/autos_co鈥?/a>How are prices of American car companies changing after Toyota's recall?
Prices have not changed other than Toyota throwing a few grand out there.How are prices of American car companies changing after Toyota's recall?Actually, if anything the price of American vehicles now are higher than Toyota's vehicles. Yes, Toyota's sales had a nice rebound vs last month. However, Toyota had to use a LOT of incentives on every vehicle that was involved in the recall. And you know the American consumer, if it's cheap, they'll buy it even if there may be safety issues.

American companies on the otherhand have had to rely less on incentives than in the past. I know from browsing my local dealers that GM especially is making a killing on sales of the Camaro, Equinox, and Terrain thanks to dealer markup. And the dealers are still having a hard time keeping them on the lots with the markups (I've seen base model Camaro's selling for $30,000+ when the MSRP is about $23,000). Most companies aren't really lowering prices in response to the Toyota Recall, they're just increasing advertising and letting that do all the work. And based on the results, it's working. Ford and GM dealers have reported very good "Conquest" sales as of late, meaning they're selling in situations where the customer currently owns another brand or is trading in another brand for the car the dealer is selling.How are prices of American car companies changing after Toyota's recall?
GM %26amp; american cars will always stay inferior to japanese

their cars are worth nothing and don't last as long
