Do car manufacturers such as Toyota get parts and components from other companies?

For example, are the doors and engine parts from different companies who manufacture them?Do car manufacturers such as Toyota get parts and components from other companies?Yes, every car company outsources many parts and components. Other companies design and build dashboards, seats, headlight assemblies, transmissions, stereos, navigation systems, etc, etc, etc.

For the most part, automakers are only parts assemblers. They develop the basic design, the parts are made by someone else, and delivered to a factory just in time to be installed on a car. Engines are one of the few things a car company builds from scratch, and many of the parts come from other sources.Do car manufacturers such as Toyota get parts and components from other companies? All automotive manufacturers use parts from other companies. Anything from electrical parts, to internal engine components. No vehicle manufacturer makes 100% of the parts that go into their vehicles.Do car manufacturers such as Toyota get parts and components from other companies?Every manufacturer gets parts from 3rd party suppliers. There are tons of companies. To list even a fraction of them would take too long. However, most of the companies that make aftermarket parts (like the kind you buy at the autoparts store) make parts for manufacturers.

In fact, sometimes, manufacturers will buy parts (if not whole cars) from competitors. For example, Chrysler has made use of Mitsubishi engines in the past couple decades in some of their cars.
