How to find a short in a 93 toyota?

I have a 93 toyota corolla, and i know i have a fuse that keeps going due to a short, how do i troubble shoot for a short, i think i know how to fix it once i find it, but how do i even go about finding it?



The cars had a coupple of acidents, and its the rear lights and the front dash thats got the problem anyone have any sugestions?How to find a short in a 93 toyota?If it was my car, I'd simply put a slightly bigger size fuse in place of the one that keeps blowing out. For example, if it was a 5 AMP fuse, put one with 50% more current rating in (7.5 AMPS). You won't damage anything, and if that keeps it from blowing out, you've solved the problem. Make sure you know the correct fuse value to start with. You could also purchase a "slow blow" type fuse from an auto electric supply store. The slow blow variety will take a higher peak current before blowing out. Of course if the problem persists, you'll have to trace the circuit path and try disconnecting each individual electric load one by one until you find out which one stops the fuse from blowing out.
