What do you think is the fair market value of a 1999 Toyota RAV-4 that was flooded and repaired?

My son's 1999 Toyota RAV-4 was in excellent condition and valued at $9,295 in June, 2006. It suffered flood damage and an insurance agent must now assign it a value after the repairs from water damage. We had the car detailed twice including replacement of the pad under the carpet, carpet cleaned, etc. The car still has an oder that will not go away. We plan to sell the car and disclosure the flood damage. Even through it was flooded in June and still has the lingering smell, it looks and runs great. What is the fair market value for the car? What would you pay for it?What do you think is the fair market value of a 1999 Toyota RAV-4 that was flooded and repaired?Sorry but I wouldn't take a chance with any flooded vehicle or salvaged for that matter.

As for value, I'd guess 50% of the lowest wholesale value. So around $3000.

For the smell, try leaving several laundry softener sheets such as Bounce in the car overnight. That usually gets rid of most smells. What do you think is the fair market value of a 1999 Toyota RAV-4 that was flooded and repaired?$1

Flood damaged cars are the most likely to have problems in the future - once water gets in the electrical system, the damage is done, but it usually takes months or even years for that damage to become apparent.
