How often should I change oil/filter in Toyota Camry 2110 V6 engine ?

Normal grownup averaging 10 thou/year of regular city and highway style of driving. NOT synthetic oil. Toyota said every 3000 miles /6 months but last visit said every 5000 miles/ 6 months. Toyota built the car they would know how to best take care of it. They don't make money on oil changes so there is no reason for them to make it a shorter interval. However if they go too long and engines start failing under warranty it will cost them a lot of money.



The dealer does make money on oil changes and doesn't really make money on warranty repairs.
