How do I extend the factory warranty of my 07 Toyota Yaris when I am not the original owner?

I bought a Toyota Yaris from a guy who is a dealer that got the car from an auction. The car has 16000 miles. How would I go about extending the warranty on the car?How do I extend the factory warranty of my 07 Toyota Yaris when I am not the original owner?Go to your local Toyota dealer and buy one from the finance department. Make sure you get the factory (Toyota) warranty. Since your car is still under the factory warranty, this is the best way to goHow do I extend the factory warranty of my 07 Toyota Yaris when I am not the original owner? You don't have to be the original owner. The best way, and only way, to go is take your car to the nearest Toyota dealer. Tell the finance manager you want an extended warranty on your car. He'll most likely have you take the car into service for an inspection and have any services performed that are required by Toyota and have any wear-and-tear items replaces as needed. This is required by Toyota of North America to write a policy on any of its cars.

Then you can buy the extended warranty from Toyota. I highly recommend NOT buying from any third party. They are notorious for slow paying, partially paying, or not paying at all. Then you're held responsible for the repairs. Also most car dealers will refuse to accept a third party extended warranty because its' so rife with problems in collecting on them.

A word of caution .... shop at least two dealers before buying the extended warranty. We make money on them. One dealer may charge more than another. And don't be afraid to haggle on the price. But keep in mind there is very little profit margin in them. A 10% discount off the lowest price quoted would be fair. How do I extend the factory warranty of my 07 Toyota Yaris when I am not the original owner? There are warranty companies that handle this. Talk to your local auto dealers and get some names. Then call them and inquire, get an application, fill it out, send it in with payment, then you are covered.

Also look up warranty companies in your phone book, there should be some listed.

I did a Google and came up with these companies:
