Where is the air filter on a 2004 Toyota Celica?

I recently purchased a 2004 Toyota Celica and was hoping to replace the air filter. However, upon opening the hood I couldn't locate the existing filter anywhere, or where to put the new filter. Does anybody know where it would go?
